All About..

It all began when a friend and I decided we were tired of being blah. We had to do something about our health and our weight, so we made a pact to join a gym together and hire a personal trainer. That was a turning point in my life. One of the best decisions I ever made for my health.

Throughout the years I became certified as a personal trainer and took many courses to educate myself on the fitness industry, but the best education I received was hiring my own coaches and learning from them and what worked best for my body. It doesn’t matter how many courses you take or books you read, experiencing it first hand is the best way to learn.

I’ve competed in the women’s figure and physique categories several times and met a lot of great people throughout the years, but my most favorite thing is helping people in the gym. I enjoy seeing people strive to better themselves, to feel confident and strong and to know that they are capable of such great things.

In 2018 my husband and I built our own gym in Saskatchewan, Canada. A place I could call home and create a community for all to feel welcome in a gym atmosphere without judgement or criticism.

Then in fall of 2022 we decided to move to Phoenix. After being in the workforce here for a year, I decided I had been away from the gym for too long. I missed it. I needed to get back to what I truly enjoy. Helping people achieve better health and fitness makes me happy.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • You’ll see some changes in the first month, like your clothes fitting differently. The big changes usually happen around month 3. Stay consistent with your workouts and nutrition, and you'll be amazed at how your body transforms over time. Remember, fitness is a journey, and every step counts!

  • When it comes to deciding whether to eat before your workout, it really depends on your personal goals, body type, and the type of exercise you'll be doing. Here are some key considerations:

    Timing is Key

    • Before Morning Workouts: If you’re working out first thing in the morning, a small snack can help fuel your performance and ensure you’re not exercising on an empty stomach. Consider something light, like a protein shake or a couple of eggs.

    • Before Afternoon or Evening Workouts: If you exercise later in the day, eating a balanced meal 2-3 hours prior is beneficial. Focus on carbs and proteins to provide sustained energy.

    • Hydration: Hydration is extremely important during a workout, as it helps maintain optimal performance, regulate body temperature, and prevent dehydration which can lead to fatigue, muscle cramps, and decrease athletic ability; therefore, drinking fluids before, during, and after exercise is crucial.

  • The importance of cardio versus strength training depends on your fitness goals. Both are crucial to a balanced program but serve different purposes.

Cardio improves cardiovascular health, burns calories, and boosts endurance, aiding weight loss and enhancing mood. Activities like running, cycling, and swimming are excellent for overall fitness.

Strength training builds muscle, increases metabolism, and improves bone density, helping to tone the body and enhance daily function. Lifting weights or using resistance bands can also prevent injuries and increase confidence.

A combination of both cardio and strength training is ideal. If your focus is weight loss, prioritize cardio; for building muscle, emphasize strength training. Assess your goals to find the right balance!
